My first reaction is that this ceasefire agreement is likely to fall apart in the end.
One major issue is that the plan requires both sides to return all captives.
Sadly, many hostages are already believed to have died, and I’ve heard that Hamas has even struggled to exhume and recover bodies from the rubble. When you see how much of Gaza has been destroyed, it’s not surprising. On top of that, a huge number of Palestinian civilians are also buried under the debris, and there’s a lack of equipment and resources to carry out proper recovery efforts.
So the condition of returning all captives feels almost impossible from the start.
Because of that, I doubt Israel genuinely expects this agreement to fully hold and progress to the next stage.
Another really important factor I’ve learned from foreign media is that whether this deal lasts or not heavily depends on Netanyahu’s political survival.
According to the news I’ve seen on YouTube, He’s been losing support among the Israeli public, and his government relies on a coalition with far-right parties. There are many far-right ministers in his government, and they strongly oppose a ceasefire and want to continue military action against Hamas.
Netanyahu can’t completely ignore them, because his political survival depends on that coalition.
At the same time, he’s under pressure from Trump to move forward with the deal.
So he’s stuck between international pressure and domestic political pressure.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the ceasefire agreement will succeed. The conflict between Israel and Hamas isn’t just a military issue — it’s rooted in a long and complicated history involving territory, sovereignty, identity, and religion. Because of these deeply entrenched issues, it’s extremely difficult for both sides to reach a compromise that feels acceptable.
Also, even after the announcement of the ceasefire plan, there have already been reports of over a hundred Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes. That shows how fragile the situation still is and suggests that the agreement may not hold in practice.
What do you think about the involvement of Trump and the U.S. in this ceasefire plan?

Personally, I support the U.S. involvement. I know some people don’t feel comfortable with Trump leading this initiative, and it’s still unclear whether it will work. But the U.S. has enough influence over both sides to apply real pressure, so its role as a mediator might help prevent the situation from getting worse.
I understand that President Trump’s approach is controversial. But in my opinion, compared with the Biden administration — which continued to send huge amounts of funds and weapons without taking visible steps to bring the wars to an end, whether in Ukraine or in Gaza — Trump’s approach seems more proactive.
And at the very least, I appreciate the fact that Hamas is trying to recover and return the bodies of the hostages from under the rubble.
Some people say Trump just wants the Nobel Peace Prize, but honestly, even if his motivations are partly self-interested, if it leads to a real improvement — especially for civilians in Gaza — then I think it’s worth it.
At this point, the humanitarian situation is so serious that the priority is simply stopping the suffering.
Ideally, peace efforts would be purely humanitarian, not political. But in the real world, sometimes personal ambition still ends up producing meaningful results.
Trump often criticizes the United Nations for not functioning properly, and I actually agree with him on that point. Sometimes I really wonder what the purpose of the UN is supposed to be.
What is the point of the UN existing if it can’t function when people in the world are suffering so deeply?
Of course, the UN may not be able to stop the war by itself. But at the very least, there should be stronger efforts to ensure that humanitarian support reaches Palestinian people in need.
Otherwise, it’s hard to see the UN’s purpose in such a humanitarian crisis.
Ultimately, my prediction is very pantheistic... but it feels like this war won't really end unless Hamas fully surrender or Israel completely eliminates Hamas.
